Angel Cards - Melbourne-inspired 29 card deck

Card games

These Melbourne-inspired cards are designed to help you navigate your spiritual - or not spiritual - journey through everyday life. Contemplate these 29 guiding concepts in times of need, curiosity or malaise.

These cards can act as angel cards, tarot cards, or simply cards to look at every now and again. You could buy two packs and play snap! Or make up your own game.

Each will provide insight into your love life, career, friendships, family, community or whatever you need. With a question or concept in mind, i.e. “my relationship”, or “what shall I do about my failing career as a cartoonist?”, pull a card from the deck and let it provide answers. Or you can simply select one card each morning to guide that day.

You can also enjoy them with friends, lovers or enemies! Ask a friend to become your tarot reader, draw a series of cards from the deck, and let them interpret the cards for you. It works best when the person knows you really well, but is also a magical and precocious way to get to know a lover-to-be.

They were created and illustrated by Molly Mckew and designed by Amanda Santamaria.

A format to use:

Three cards left to right; the left represents the past, the middle the present, and the far right, future. Optional: choose a fourth card to represent “overarching future”. This should be placed above the middle card. Select them all one by one, place them face down, then flip them over all at once.

Another format: do the past, present, future, spread as above. Select a fourth card to place below the middle card. This represents the core reason for the situation you’re in. Select a fifth card to play above the middle card. This represents the potential of the situation.
